The project will support the enhancement of pedestrian and bicycle connectivity as envisioned in the Campus Development Plan, and provide infrastructure upgrades to support upcoming housing, academic, and residential projects in progress and anticipated for the campus.

The upgrades will include the enhancement of dedicated pedestrian and bicycle malls on several segments of interior campus streets; improvements in drainage and storm water infrastructure along these corridors; the upgrade, relocation and/ or burial of electrical utilities along these and several additional streets; and provision future utilities conduits.

The 5.5 acre mall walk is the first of its kind on the campus

Upon its completion in October of 2018, the walk was dedicated by two former Tarleton State presidents and renamed the Texan Trace.
